Marieke Warmelink (1977, Rotterdam) is geïnteresseerd in parlementaire systemen en onderliggende motieven van besluitvorming. Warmelink bevraagt leiderschap en maakt hiervoor gebruik van diverse disciplines zoals schilderkunst, video, performance en installatie.

 

Recente projecten zijn o.a.: Embassy of Goodwill (AIOPRECALL New York), Of Kings & Consuls (14th Istanbul Biennial, General Consulate of the Netherlands, paralel event), Investigation Dutch Identity (Art Rotterdam), Ambassy of Goodwill (AIOPFREE, New York), Ordinary Secrets (W139, Amsterdam), Battle of the King (De Balie, Amsterdam), Crowning (Month of Performance Art, Berlin), en Democratic Kumpir (International Performance Association, Istanbul). Warmelink heeft deelgenomen aan verschillende internationale residenties waaronder het project The Proposition in Partapur, India en heeft lesgegeven op diverse Universiteiten zoals Pace University (NYC), Colombia University (NYC) Artez University (Zwolle) Gerrit Rietveld Academy (Amsterdam) and Shiv Nadar Univerity(Delhi) among others.

Marieke Warmelink (°1977, Rotterdam, Netherlands) is interested in international relations, parliamentary systems and the underlying motives of the decision-making. Warmelink questions leadership and offers alternatives, a combination of disciplines including painting, performance and installation. The work of Warmelink is shaping examples of alternative leadership in light of the conflicts of the XXI Century, based on the voice of the public. Through performances and interaction with the local people, Warmelink researches, analyses and maps out the needs of different cultures and political systems.
